They beat the odds to appear for boards

It will be a defining moment for the Bhatt family when their son Kunjan (20) will write HSC board exam. Kunjan suffers from cerebral palsy (CP), which causes physical disability in human development.

Kunjan could not speak, sit and stand - he had little body movement. If Kunjan will walk into the exam hall with the help of crutches, it is the result of the Herculean efforts put in by him and his parents to beat the debilitating disease.

"Kunjan is our only child. He is now able to walk with hand support from one room to another. He has amazing will power and he puts in five hours of studies daily," says Kunjan's father Jayesh. Kunjan had scored 48% in SSC and wishes to be a Sanskrit scholar.

Jayesh, who runs a surgical equipment business, has pumped almost all his savings into managing his son's health. The family stays for six months in Mumbai for specialized physiotherapy for Kunjan.

His parents have also shifted home to Meghaninagar from Satellite so that Kunjan can attend Amarjyot High School...
